Paraffin

Paraffin

a small Iranian brand specializing in handcrafted candles. The identity was designed to reflect the artisanal nature of the products while celebrating elements of Iranian cultural heritage.

The organic form of the logo was inspired by the melting movement of candle wax, creating a visual language that feels warm, fluid, and handcrafted. At the heart of the mark is a symbol derived from the traditional Persian "Pīsooz" —an ancient oil lamp once widely used in Iran before candles became common. Historically, these lamps were fueled with oil rather than paraffin, making them an enduring symbol of light, warmth, and tradition. By reinterpreting this historic object in a contemporary form, the logo establishes a meaningful connection between the brand and its cultural roots.

The identity is complemented by a turquoise blue, a color deeply associated with Persian art, architecture, and traditional craftsmanship. Since many historic *Pīsooz* lamps were crafted in this distinctive hue, the color reinforces the authenticity of the concept while giving the brand a memorable visual presence.

The custom typography subtly echoes the silhouette of a candle flame, completing an identity that balances heritage with a modern, organic aesthetic.
